Anyone can be a caregiver, whether you received formal training to be professional, or not due to immediate family circumstances. Either way, it is a rewarding career. But just like any other job, stress and having a bad day are inevitable parts of our days that we cannot control, especially as caregivers. As much as you value time and support for them at all times, you need some days to yourself too.

Help others by helping yourself first. Have you been losing interest in doing the things you love? Have you been gaining weight and losing sleep? Do you find yourself sad for unknown reasons? Identify signs of caregiver stress and acknowledge that even the strongest person you know will experience depression or anxiety.
